Frequently asked questions
Free marketing tools FAQ
What free marketing tools does Scale offer?
Scale offers a color picker and palette builder, plus a readability checker. The color tool helps you choose website colors and check text contrast. The readability tool helps you review the reading difficulty of ads, landing pages and emails.
Do I need an account to use these tools?
No. Both tools are free to use without creating an account, entering an email address or starting a trial.
Is my text sent to Scale when I check readability?
Readability calculations run in your browser, so pasted text and uploaded text-file contents are not sent to Scale for analysis. If you request a webpage import, our server receives the URL and fetches the public page. Sharing the readability checker sends a link to the tool, not your entered text.
Can I use these tools on a phone?
Yes. Both tools work in modern mobile browsers. The color selector uses your browser's native picker, so its appearance and available features vary by device. Sharing options include social links, messaging apps and the device share menu where supported.
Can these tools improve my website's search rankings?
These tools help you review text readability and color contrast, but neither a readability score nor a color palette guarantees search rankings or inclusion in AI answers. Use the results alongside accurate content, a usable website and a broader search strategy.
Why can website import miss content or colors?
Website import reads the HTML returned by a public page. For colors, it also checks up to six same-site stylesheets, including CSS imports, with a size limit of 1 MB per stylesheet. It cannot log in, bypass access restrictions or run JavaScript. Colors in images or external-domain stylesheets and text loaded after the page opens may be missing.
